LeRoy Alexander, 85, of Lake Village passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at his home. LeRoy was born October 3, 1931 to the late Albert B. and Louise Mangrum Alexander in Eudora. He was a member and Deacon of Portland Baptist Church in Portland. He served in the United States Army and was a 33rd degree Mason in the Masonic Lodge located in Hamburg. He was always eager to serve the Scottish Rite Temple. He was an outdoor enthusiast who loved to hunt, fish, or just simply enjoy the outdoors.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Albert Ray and Charles Crandle Alexander.
LeRoy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha Alexander; two daughters, Vickie Lee (John) Cingolani of Lake Village and Mitzi Ann (Robert) Rice of Monticello; two brothers, David Alexander of Lake Village and Donald Alexander of Breaux Bridge, La.; six grandchildren, Christy Cobb, Heather Jammal, Denton Rice, Phillip Cingolani, Neil Rice, and Gino Cingolani; thirteen great-granchildren, and a host of neices, nephews, friends, and extended family who loved him and will miss him dearly.
Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. at Portland Baptist Church on Monday, September 25, 2017 with Bro. Carl Mason and Bro. David Sullivan officiating. Burial followed in Portland Cemetery with services under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home of Lake Village.
Pallbearers were Denton Rice, Drake Rice, Neil Rice, Phillip Cingolani, Gino Cingolani, and Garrett Cobb. The Deacons of Portland Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.
