COVID-19 Closings and Cancelations

Community Closings & Cancelations:

Walmart's hours are now 7 A.M. -8:30 P.M. After today, March 19, the Auto Center will be closed until further notice. Also, starting Tuesday March 24 and every Tuesday until April 28, stores will open one hour early for seniors (60+) to shop. The pharmacy will also be open during this time.

 
Bethel A.M.E. Church in Fountain Hill's Women's Retreat on Saturday, March 21 at 10 a.m. has been canceled.

ALL SALONS, MASSAGE, TATTOO PARLORS, AND NAIL SALONS  are closed until further notice as of 3.23.20.

Monticello Dental is closed until further notice. 

Seark Eyecare is taking emergency only patients. 

Union Grove Cemetery Meeting scheduled for March 29 is postponed until further notice. 

Drew County Museuem and Archives are closed until further notice. 

The Barkada Water Association meeting that was scheduled for March 30 has been canceled. The meeting will be rescheduled at a later date. For any questions contact them at 870-723-3698.

Kim’s Dance Factory is closed until March 30. The Cheer Clinic scheduled for March 16-19 has also been canceled. If you need more information you can call 870-367-3655

The Planning Commission Special Meeting scheduled for March 17 has been canceled. The next meeting will be April 14.

Monticello Jury Duty that was scheduled for March 17-20 has been canceled.

Junior Auxiliary’s Krawfish 4 Kids that was scheduled for April 4 has been postponed until further notice. 

 

Schools:

Monticello and Drew Central Schools are closed until March 30.

Drew Central District meeting has been postponed until March 30 @ 5:30 pm.

The Malco Movie Theatre in Monticello has been closed until further notice.

The Drew County Courthouse is closed until further notice. 

Monticello Branch Library is closed until further notice.

The Guest House in Warren is closed until April 14.

 

Universities: 

The University of Arkansas at Monticello announced March 17 that it will continue to deliver all instruction in an online setting through the end of the Spring 2020 semester. The university will continue to remain open. Residence halls and food service also remain open. Students at the UAM Colleges of Technology will receive communication about specific lab-based programs. All UAM faculty and staff will continue to offer student support services. Students should be checking Blackboard and university email regularly for class instructions and other important updates.

Due to an abundance of caution, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff will offer online only instruction until Monday, March 30. Administrative offices will remain open. There have been no confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified among any campus faculty, students, or staff. For more information, visit www.uapb.edu/coronavirusUpon recommendation set forth by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for large gatherings, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) has updated the status for current and upcoming events.
Current exhibits housed in the Leedell Moorehead-Graham Art Gallery and University Museum and Cultural Center will remain closed until further notice. Lion Fever Day, and Founders Celebration events, including Honors and Awards Convocation, Educational Access Conference, and the Alumni Breakfast have also been canceled. The Annual Student and Faculty Research Forum and Chancellor’s Scholarship Gala have been postponed.
The status of Spring 2020 commencement is undetermined, however, UAPB leaders will continue to monitor COVID-19 developments and make assessments as new information emerges.

Monticello Sports Complex is closed until further notice.

Monticello Youth Baseball practice is postponed until March 30.

State Closings & Cancelations:

Arkansas Activities Association is postponed until March 30.

The April 3 bull soundness clinic and the April 21 “Focus on Heifers” field day are being postponed as a precaution to stem the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Great American Clean-Up was March 1- May 30 and is postponed until May 31. If you need more information you can contact robin.taylor@arkansas.gov.

SEC Season is closed until further notice.

Arkansas State Capitol is closed until further notice.

Arkansas National Guard Family Visits are canceled until further notice.
