Eula V. Hicks
Eula V. Hicks, 78, of Monticello died February 8, 2014, at Belle View Nursing and Rehab in Monticello.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1935, to the late George Davis and Dell Fletcher and was the oldest of five children.
She attended Drew High School. In 1956, she married Leslie James Hicks and to this union two children were born. They preceeded her in death.
She was a very active member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Davis and Dell Fletcher; her children, Barbara Hicks and Leslie James Jr.; brothers, J.D., Nolen and Roscoe Davis, and two sisters, Robbie Lee Davis and Sarah Francis Fletcher.
She is survived by one step-daughter, Vanessa (Tommy) Daniels of Monticello; one brother, Dennis (Julie) Batts, of New Holsteine, Wis.; one sister, Hattie Mae Davis, of Baltimore, Md.; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2014, at New Morning Star Church with burial following in Oakland Cemetery.
