Award offered in Martin investigation
A $25,000 reward is being offered as the Drew County Sheriff's Department and the Arkansas State Police continue to investigate and ask for any information regarding the death of 26-year-old Wilmar man Marquis Martin.
Marquis was last seen on video surveillance Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Murphy USA gas station in Monticello shortly after leaving work at the local McDonalds. Marquis was then believed to have left Murphy’s and was driven to his home in Wilmar and dropped off at his residence.
On Saturday, March 7, at approximately 7:05 a.m. his body was discovered in a creek just north of Wilmar on State Highway 35. An autopsy was conducted by the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory days later. The results of the autopsy are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation being conducted by the Drew County Sheriff’s Department and Arkansas State Police.
