Life long Drew County resident, John Carter, has announced his candidacy for the Monticello City Council, Ward 4.
Carter is a father, husband and member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He has served his community as a Monticello fireman and city police officer as well as Supervisory Agent of the 10th Drug Task Force.
“My decision to run for City Council stems from my love of Monticello,” says Carter. “I went to school here, my children go to school here and I care about my community. I want to do my part to make Monticello a better place for everyone and a place where people feel safe to raise a family.”
Carter looks forward to working with Mayor Paige Chase and other council members, addressing the issues we currently face together as a community.
“I believe in my community,” Carter stated. “Monticello has given so much to me that if I can serve the people and give back, it will be an honor. I would appreciate your vote in November.”
