The information-packed meeting will include:
How to improve nutrient and water management with cover crops;
How to apply for soil health funding from the United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS);
Soil Health management tips from Arkansas cotton growers, including Sam Whitaker, Steve Stevens and Robby Bevis;
Stevens/Kirkpatrick Farm Tour with discussions of equipment and soil sampling for soil health.
Although the meeting will focus primarily on cotton, all farmers interested in improving soil health are invited to attend. Lunch will be provided.
Farmers are asked to register for the event by calling Ms. Debbie Moreland at 1-501-425-2891.
