Local McDonalds lends helping hand to Martin's family
The Monticello McDonald’s restaurant, 369 Highway 425 North, will donate 10% of proceeds on Monday, March, 16 to help support the family of employee Marquis Martin. Martin’s body was discovered on Saturday, March 7, after a nearly month long search. He had been missing since Sunday, Feb. 9, and the investigation into his death is still underway. Donations will support Martin’s family, including his four-year-old son and help cover funeral expenses.
“Marquis’ disappearance, the search and Saturday’s discovery of his body has weighed heavily on our staff and we want to do what we can to help support his family in this difficult time,” said McDonald’s Owner/Operator Michael Retzer Jr. “His friends and colleagues describe him as a hard worker who was committed to helping others, whether here, at his church or at school where he worked in special education and mentored students. He is certainly missed.”
