Monticello Police arrested Jackie Sharp, 36, on charges of Second Degree Battery after Sharp attacked an on duty campus police officer at a local gas station last week before fleeing the scene.
Sharp left the scene after the assault and was arrested by the Arkansas State Police in Lonoke County after a vehicle pursuit that same morning.
Sharp is being held in the Drew County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
In a separate incident, a Drew County man is facing multiple felony charges, including possession of approximately 2 ounces of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver.
Kory McKinzie Martin, age 39, was arrested by Monticello Police on an outstanding parole warrant after a traffic stop by Monticello Officers.
Martin was transported to the Drew County Jail, where during the course of a search, Officers discovered Martin had approximately two ounces of methamphetamine concealed on his person. Martin attempted to destroy the evidence but was stopped by officers and the evidence was recovered.
Officers also seized over 3,000.00 in cash. Martin was charged with Possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver, Tampering with Evidence, and furnishing prohibited articles into a correctional facility.
