Charlie William Belknap
Charlie William Belknap, 85, of Cartersville, Ga. (formerly of Monticello), passed away on January 3, 2019 at his home in Cartersville. He was born July 25, 1933 in Blytheville to the late Raymond Otto Belknap Sr. and Louise Ross Belknap.
In addition to his parents, his wife Patsy Ruth Bartholomew Belknap proceeded him in death. Charlie also had two brothers Raymond Otto Belknap Jr. and Eugene Belknap that proceeded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, James Steven (Rebecca) Belknap and David Wayne (Karen) Belknap, both of Flower Mound, Texas; one daughter, Susan Belknap (Rusty) Feeser of Ringgold, Ga.; four grandchildren, Mark (Yuen) Gabby-Li, Allison (Daniel) Matalone, Natasha (Justin) Troyka and Matt Gabby; and two great-grandchildren, Dominic Matalone and Kateri Gabby-Li.
Charlie served as a Southern Baptist Minister for 11 years, Superintendent of Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home for 18 years and a mental health counselor for Delta Counseling for 25 years. His gentle and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew him. He touched many lives through his work and friendship and will forever be remembered as a faithful servant of the Lord.
A memorial service will be held at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 to coordinate with the Baptist Children’s Home anniversary celebration.
