Rev. J. Donald Johnson
Rev. J. Donald Johnson (Bro. Don), 76, of Rison, went to his heavenly home Friday, Jan. 24, 2020. He was born June 27, 1943 in Chidester, Ark. to Bryant and Virginia Stinnett Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward Johnson and Charles Johnson and a sister, Rogene Johnson Diffee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Mary T. Johnson; a daughter, Amy (Chris) Moore of Fayetteville; a son, Adam Jones of Fayetteville; two brothers, Roger Johnson of Monroe, Ga. and Dewey (Betty) Johnson of Shreveport; an adopted daughter, Tina (Kim) Allen of Kingsland; an adopted son, Ashly (Jennifer) White of Fountain Hill; three sisters-in-law, Jan Rose and her friend, Jimmy Brooks of Ruston, Donna (James) DeLoney and her husband, James of Pensacola, Fla. and Anne (Ted) Auschwitz of Owasso, Okla. and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was a carpenter prior to accepting the call to ministry in 1981. He served four charges in Louisiana and Arkansas. He was currently serving at the Green Hill/Lacey charge.
Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was 10 to 11a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at the Green Hill United Methodist Church in Wilmar. There was also a committal service at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27 at Missouri Cemetery near Chidester.
