Thomas A. "T.C." Cox
Thomas A. "T.C." Cox, 76 of Monticello, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born Dec. 7, 1943 in Monticello, to the late Crowell G. Cox and Bertie Mae Funderburg Cox.
He was retired from the Drew County Sheriff's Office, a self-employed dirt contractor and was a member of Pauline Missionary Baptist Church. T.C. loved his work but his greatest love was his family. He also enjoyed coon hunting. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Willie Cox.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gladys M. Akin Cox of Monticello; three sons, Gene (Judy) Cox of Vilonia, Chris (Prissi) Cox of Monticello and Phillip Cox of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Shelly (Ward) Rabb of Monticello; one sister, Bettie Watson of Monticello; one brother, Dolph (Sharon) Hayes of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren, Miranda (Mike) Reynolds, Kaycee (Timothy) Rountree, Haley (Skylar) Jackson, Megan (Aaron) Dixon, Michael (Aly) Rabb, Cole Cox and Chelsea Cox; three honorary grandchildren, Skyler Hart, Carlton Talley and Delaney Ross; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, at Pauline Missionary Baptist Church with burial to follow in Campground Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
