William C. Waller Jr.
William C. “Bill” Waller Jr., 88, passed away July 19, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Eula Mae Hales Waller; his son, William C. “Billy” (Katherine) Waller III of Seguin, Texas; his daughter, Leslie Ann Waller of Norfolk, Va.; and his grandson, William C. “Will” Waller IV of Cedar Park, Texas.
Bill was born on September 11, 1930 in Pine Bluff to parents William C. Waller Sr. and Clara Grace Waller. He graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1948 and held jobs in the Electrical Industry prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Air Force on Jan. 4, 1951, which resulted in a three-year tour of duty.
Upon leaving the Air Force, he attended Arkansas A&M College (now the University of Arkansas at Monticello) before transferring to the University of Arkansas. During his junior year at Arkansas, Bill married Eula Mae Hales on April 4, 1956. He graduated from Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in May 1957 and was of the Baptist faith.
Upon graduation from Arkansas, Bill accepted a job with Schlumberger Well Services as a Field Engineer in Morgan City, La. He held various positions with Schlumberger in South Louisiana, Houston, Denver and Dallas prior to his retirement on Jan. 1, 1989.
Bill was a Registered Professional Engineer in both Louisiana and Texas. He was a long-time member of the Society of Professional Log Analysis and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. August 24, 2019 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery.
