Winburn Carter Tucker

Winburn Carter Tucker, of the Coleman community near Monticello, went to be with his Lord on May 11, 2019. He was born October 15, 1932 to the late R.J. and Margie Carter Tucker.

W.C. was a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Monticello and a veteran of the Korean War, serving from January 1953 to September 1954. He then became a member of the Army reserve until he was discharged in February of 1961. He was awarded several medals for his service.

Mr. Tucker traveled with the pipeline for a few years, then settled in the Enon community to farm. He was employed at Burlington Industries for a number of years and then MonArk Boat Company as a welder until his retirement.

Winburn loved going to church and traveling around to hear different gospel groups sing. He loved spending time at his family home in Coleman with family and friends, especially during deer hunting season. He never met a stranger and was always making someone laugh at his antics.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack Tucker, and two stepdaughters, Kathy Hawkins and Barbara Copeland, all of Monticello.

Survivors include two daughters, Trudy (Alan) Carrington of Rowlett, Texas and Stacy (Jeff) Smith of Bauxite; one son, Jeff Tucker of Monticello; three grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry (Rose) Tucker and Olin Tucker, both of Coleman, and Edward (Carolyn) Tucker of Pine Bluff; one sister, Kitty (Billy) Wiscaver of Smackover; a wife, Mary Tucker of Monticello; two stepdaughters, Robin (Joe) Massetti of Waterbury, Conn. and Debra (Bill) Bennett of Monticello; one stepson, Jerry (Michelle) Majors of Monticello; 18 step-grandchildren; 20 step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.
