UAM begins 2019 season
It’s finally here.
A mere 10 months and five days after concluding his best season at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Hud Jackson will lead the Boll Weevils onto the turf at Willis “Convoy” Leslie Cotton Bowl Stadium Thursday night to begin what the ninth-year head coach hopes will be a continuation of 2018.
Arkansas Tech University, now coached by former UAM offensive coordinator Kyle Shipp, himself a three-year letterman for the Wonder Boys. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. on Community Day at UAM. Students and players are also calling the opener “Blackout Day.” The team will wear all-black uniforms—as opposed to the traditional school colors of Kelly Green and White—and are asking the fans that show up to do the same.
