UAM Men's Golf team update
The University of Arkansas at Monticello men's golf team finished 11th out of 14 teams at the Houston Classic Tuesday from the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas. Freshman Tyler Quinn was tied for 16th after a 74 (+2) in the last round of competition.
Altogether, UAM shot 932 to place 11th in the tournament. The Weevils best round was its last shooting 304 as a team after posting a 312 in round one and a 316 in round two.
Quinn finished in the 70s in each round shooting a 76 (+4) in round one, a 73 (+1) in round two and a 74 (+2) in the final round placing him in a tie for 16th with a combined 223.
Will Sumner was the next best finisher for the Weevils in 36th place after shooting a 76 (+4), 82 (+10) and 75 (+3) for a combined to 233.
The next top scores for UAM came from Ethan Bearden who posted a combined 238 and Carson Garner who finished with a total of 239. The pair landed at 41st and 42nd in the tournament.
Rounding out UAM's five was Julian Audibert who finished 47th in the competition.
The Weevils will be back in action next week beginning Monday, Feb. 15, when they head to the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark. for the Battle of the Belt.
