Wanted man captured in Dumas
A Monticello man who had a warrant for his arrest issued in connection with an incident that occurred during the early morning hours of June 26 was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Dumas and returned to the Drew County Correctional Facility.
According to Monticello Police Chief Eddy Deaton, Franciscus Bell, 23, of Monticello was picked up by the Dumas Police Department on the outstanding warrant Wednesday.
While wanted for questioning in other crimes, a warrant was issued for Bell following an incident in which 30-plus bullets were fired into a vehicle parked in front of a residence on Kennedy Boulevard. At the time of the incident, the driver was still in the vehicle and identified the shooter to the authorities.
Just last week, the Monticello Police Department put Bell on their "Most Wanted" list and issued his photo and information to the media.
Bell is expected to make his initial appearance before a judge either later today or first thing Friday morning.
Anyone with information about this, or any other, crime is encouraged to contact the Monticello Police Department at 367-3411.
